To the man I marry
I have been praying for you ever since I sort of had an understanding of what a "husband" was.
*ahem*
To the man I marry,
I pray that we will be best friends. I pray that our best friends will be best friends. I pray that our parents will be best friends. I even hope that our dogs will be best friends!
I pray that you can accept me for who I am and who I'll grow into, as well as all the craziness that goes along with it.
I pray that we have the same humor, and the same taste in movies and hobbies. I really hope you like comic books, because I already have a pretty big collection of them, and I don't plan on giving up that hobby any time soon.
I pray that you like dogs, because, well, I LOVE them. I pray you aren't allergic. One day I would like to open my own shelter and it would be kind of hard if you were allergic or not a fan of dogs, you know? But I pray that no matter what, we can work something out if you aren't a huge dog fan.
I pray that you can cook, oh Lord, I pray that you can cook.
I pray that you love your family. I pray that you have a good and healthy relationship with your parents, especially your mother, and will develop a close relationship with mine. I pray our families can spend time with each other as we grow old together, as we have kids, and our siblings have kids. I pray our kids will be close with their cousins. I pray that you can be an amazing uncle to Knox, and any other future nephews/nieces I may have, and I pray that I can be the best aunt I can be to any nephews or nieces that you have. And if you are an only child, well, I pray that I can just be the coolest family member I can be. I pray that I can be a good daughter in law, and develop a good relationship with your parents, especially your mom.
Lastly, but not least, I pray you love God. I pray that no matter what happens in your life, you put all your trust in Him. Because while I will be the best wife I can be and support you in everything, there's only so much I can do. But God can do any and everything. So I pray that you are able to trust in His timing, not your own.
Please know that I love you more than you will ever know, and I don't even know who you are.
With all my heart,
Jenae Hardcastle
